Individual places are available for RORC (Royal Ocean Racing Club) offshore yacht races. Ideal if you can’t commit to a whole season or perhaps just want to try out offshore racing to see what it’s about. These weekend adventures are both challenging and rewarding. All necessary training is provided and there’s no specific pre-requisite qualification for this campaign, however, we do recommend having done at least the Competent Crew course or have similar experience.

RYA Practical Courses are run over 5 consecutive days. You can do either Competent Crew or Day Skipper and we limit the number of people to 3, so there’s plenty of instructor time and ability to social distance. Just choose the course type when you sign up.

Advanced training for more experienced skippers building on the Day Skipper course, the RYA Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster ™ course looks at more detailed navigational techniques, specifically for those looking to undertake longer passages and, in particular, navigation at night. For those who have built up some miles and are looking to the next stage of their boating journey, the RYA Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster ™ theory is a great step and essential preparation for the Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster ™ and Yachtmaster ™ offshore practical exam. Classroom-based evening class: If we have enough interest, we are looking to run a course in January.
